Researchers have identified what are believed to be Europe's oldest shoes, found in a cave inhabited by bats in Spain. These sandals, dating back 6,000 years, were crafted using materials like grass, leather, and lime. In addition to the footwear, artifacts including baskets and tools were also unearthed from the cave. Interestingly, this cave was initially explored in 1831 by a landowner who collected bat droppings for fertilizer production.
